Jolene - Rhubarb Danish

A recent discovery for me, Jolene is a delightful bakery and restaurant situated in Newington Green. They're currently open for coffee and food to go, offering fresh pastries, sandwiches and cakes. I went for their delicious rhubarb danish which combines the crunch of buttery pastry with creamy custard and sweet rhubarb. YUM YUM

Trullo - Carbonara Twirl

I have been itching to try this pastry for weeks and boy... was it good. Buttery, flaky pastry with chunks of pancetta, topped with shaved parmesan and confit egg yolk, absolute heaven. I'd highly recommend to heat it up for a few minutes in the oven. So fresh and so delicious.

The Dusty Knuckle - Morning Bun

I featured Dusty Knuckle in my Lockdown Sandwich Stops post earlier this year. Located in Dalston, it's a local gem for freshly baked bread and pastries. I'd highly recommend their Morning Bun, a delicious croissant and cinnamon roll hybrid. It's the perfect combination of crisp flakes of pastry and spiced, sugary goodness.

Pophams - Maple Bacon

Located in both London Fields and Islington, Pophams is an artisan bakery that specialises in sourdough bread and pastries. Their Maple Bacon pastry swirl is a salty but sweet breakfast bake for those who like the best of both. Make sure to ask for it warmed up!
