I was recently contacted by a lovely representative of a new website - www.beauty900.co.uk - which has been created by the owners of Shumailas Hair & Beauty, a salon with five branches based within the areas of East London and Essex. Beauty900 is a unique online store where you can purchase a wide selection of Dermalogica skin care products, from toners and cleansers to moisturisers and eye creams. As a brand, Dermalogica is growing increasingly popular and so the idea behind this website launch was to ensure salon clients could purchase products for themselves to use at home.

I was kindly sent a couple of samples from the site to try, Dermalogica is such an innovative brand so I was really excited to see what I'd receive. I was given the AGE smart Daytime Radiance kit and the Daily Microfoliant. I have been using them over the past fortnight or so and here are my thoughts.

I have actually already used the Daily Microfoliant in the past so I already knew what to expect, nevertheless I was more than pleased to own it once again. This is an exfoliator developed with rice extracts and Salicylic acid that can be used everyday to polish the skin leaving a softer and brighter appearance. The product has a dry texture, much like baking powder, and with water becomes a smooth paste. Once blended over the face it immediately works to unclog the pores and rid off excess dead skin cells. This is an incredibly gentle product which can be used upon any skin type without causing any irritation.

This kit consists of three products that work together to combat signs of ageing and to protect the skin from UV damage. The MultiVitamin Power Firm is a light, firming cream which aims to reduce the appearance of fine lines with Vitamin A, C and E acting as the key ingredients. Although wrinkles aren't yet something I've been burdened with, I have been using this around my eyes as this is the area I'm concerned is most prone to ageing. The cream itself has a smooth consistency and has a sweet fragrance of Grape seed oil. The Dynamic Skin Recovery moisturiser is a daily wear product with added SPF 30 to fight against harm caused by the Sun. It's hydrating on the skin and acts as a great base before applying make up without leaving the skin looking pastey. Natural oils including Clove, Evening Primrose and Rosewood have been used to develop this formula. Finally the SkinPerfect Primer was probably my favourite of the three. This is a tinted primer that helps give the skin a subtle glow that lasts all day and I've also noticed the product has a delightful scent of Lavender. I choose to apply this after I have moisturised to give a smooth, matte base for my foundation.
