My Beauty Profile

Saturday 25 August 2012

I thought I would share with you all the products that I regularly use and will continue to use, from skin care to everyday essentials. All these products have honestly never once let me down and I'd recommend each and every single one. Most of them I have already reviewed however a couple are more recent purchases.

SKIN CARE

(Left to Right)
No 7 Beautiful Skin Foaming Cleanser for normal/oily skin - £9.00
Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream - retail price varies
Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps, Tea Tree Bar Soap - 50p
Murad Time Release Blemish Cleanser - SheSaidBeauty sample
Clean Start Dermalogica Matte SPF Moisturiser -GlossyBox sample

I've finally found a handful of skin care products that I can confidently say I'm settled with, each has it's own part in keeping break outs and shine at bay. My most recent skin care buy is this foaming cleanser by No 7 which is now essential to my skin care rountine, it's amazing! This range has been developed for those with oily skin and this particular product has been most impressive. It takes off all  make up and leaves my face feeling refreshed and matte without drying out my skin and I've definitly noticed a reduction in shine and spots. Another cleanser I have been making use of is Murad's Time Release Blemish Cleanser which I found worked really well at drying out my spots and quickly reducing blemishes.

I usually like to exfoliate my face a couple of times during the week and out of all the many exfoliators I've tried this one by Clinique has taken the number one spot. It has always worked for me and has the right consistency for my liking. I think it's nice to have a good old bar of soap at hand and this Dr. Bronner's Magic soap with Tea Tree has treated me well since I was introduced to the liquid magic soap which I received with a past GlossyBox. You can find these nifty little soaps in Topshop at £1 each but I managed to grab a couple in the sale for half price. And finally my current choice of moisturiser has been this one by Dermalogica, it gives me a matte base for my make up and reduces shine.

HAIR CARE

(Left to Right)
Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo - £6.99
L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray - £3.79
Organix Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy Flat Iron Spray - £6.99
Batiste Dry Shampoo - £3.99
Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner - £6.99

I have been using the Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner since around May time of this year, read this post for a full review. Both leave my hair feeling luxuriously soft, shiny and smelling gorgeous. With my hair so thick and heavy it tends to look flat so hairspray is always a must to give my locks some 'oomph' and I can always depend on a good old can of L'Oreal Elnett. The only form of heat styling I do is straightening which we all know can cause great damage to our hair over time so I always use this flat iron spray by Organix hair care to protect my hair with added keratin therapy. With the recent humid heat we've been having my hair occasionally feels a little greasy, especially my fringe so to refresh I use Batiste which I have been using for a few years now. This one in particular has been developed for those with dark hair, like myself, to avoid those white powdery patches that tend to appear when using the original.

BODY

(Left to Right)
Nivea Good-bye Cellulite Gel-Cream - 1/2 price for £5.99
Sanctuary Spa Mela Body Butter - £9.50
St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mousse - £3.99
Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse - GlossyBox sample

One of my most irritating body flaws is my cellulite which I'm not ashamed to admit I have because I know plenty of us girls have it. I have been using this gel for over a year maybe two and it has reduced the appearance of my cellulite more than I would ever expect a high street branded product would, even my boyfriend was taken by surprise with how well and how quickly it had worked. I feel a lot more confident getting my legs out when I've used this gel , it's made such a difference. This Rose & Pistachio body butter from the Mela range by Sanctuary Spa is my ultimate fav, it's simply heavenly and worth the price you pay.
My skin is always left so soft and fragrant and the product itself lasts me a good while. Occasionally I use this Nuxe oil as a little treat for my skin since this is such a small sample I need to use it sparingly. Once used my skin feels nourished and delicate.

I've been against instant tanning products since forever but this self tanning mousse from St. Moritz has had an influence on me and considering I found it cheap in TK Maxx I couldn't refuse giving it a chance. The product blends well into the skin and leaves a long lasting natural tan.

HANDBAG ESSENTIALS

(Clockwise)
Lancome Teint Miracle 5ml - GlossyBox sample
The Body Shop Tea Tree Blotting Tissues - £4.50
Clinique Compact Mirror - Freebie
YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick - £23.50
Vaseline Limited Editon Lip Therapy in Crème Brûlée - £2.99

These are all the products that are essential for my day to day use and will always be found within my handbag. I like to try to only take simple necessities as I like to keep my bag clutter free and light weight. I have a small sample of foundation on hand for any minor touch ups I may need during the day. At work I'm always wearing my glasses and by the end of the day I'm left with noticeable marks on the bridge of my nose so I like to cover those up before my commute home. Although I have noticed pleasant results from my skin care I still admittedly have an odd bit of shine here and there on my face usually around my T-zone and chin. These blotting tissues are fantastic at absorbing excess oil and leave my skin with a matte finish. Its pure instinct to throw a compact mirror into your handbag and probably for most of us girls, a lippy too which varies depending on my outfit that day. To keep my lips hydrated I always depend on good old Vaseline which I was glad to get in this scrummy limited edition.
