Despite the circumstances, we ended up having a lovely New Years Eve. We dined in with Jones & Sons, a local of ours and absolute hero. Jones is definitely a gem of Dalston and I couldn't recommend it enough, whether it's brunch or dinner, it makes a delightful dining experience.
The Jones team have worked super hard during the pandemic, introducing a delivery and collection service for East Londoners. Since we weren't able to make our original dinner reservation, we opted for their NYE at home menu - which was divine.
To start, we had the burrata with pumpkin and sage, topped with savoury granola. For main, we each had a generous portion of succulent beef short rib served with dauphinois potatoes, parsnip puree and cavolo nero. We weren't able to squeeze in dessert on the night but the blackberry and pistachio trifle with Baileys cream made an excellent hangover cure. And to top it off, we each received a bottle of prosecco - great value for £65 per person!
